How is the Gothic depicted in Great Expectations?

First is with the creepy locations and architecture. Satis house, the residence of Miss Havisham and Estella. This is an untamed and decrepit manor house, fitting for Gothic novel. Another is the mists on the marshes, this depicts the Gothic in Great Expectations because it is the opening  location for the book and sets the scene and also it creates an atmosphere.

The grotesque in Great Expectations is Miss Havisham. She is described as a grim women. Her hair is unruly and untamed, her face is aged and ghostly.

Waxwork, skeleton, brightness, dress were all things Pip couldn't get out of his head. These are the things that play on your mind and make it creepy.
